College & Career Readiness
Vision 2025 illustrates what it might look like for all SFUSD students to graduate ready to live, work, and thrive in the world they are graduating into, and to continue to thrive in a changing world. Through the Graduate Profile, the Vision identifies key knowledge, skills, dispositions and behaviors for life success that we are using to inform transformations in PreK-12 learning experiences and environments in SFUSD. Integral to this profile are experiences that expose students to a wide variety of post-secondary pathways and career and provide opportunities for students to meaningfully engage and interact in a variety of these settings. SFUSD is committed to ensuring that all of our diverse students have the experiences, resources, and supports to follow their passions and dream for the future. Investments in this area strengthen our career technical education (CTE) pathways, Linked-Learning innovations and our commitment that all students graduate college-ready, while, additionally, engaging students in planning for post-secondary options that channel their passions early in their high school careers.
Though Investments in College and Career Readiness we are...
- Defining the portfolio of SFUSD High Schools to ensure that all students have access to an array of high quality options and can find a school that suits their learning needs and interests
- Creating a computer science based game design experience which allows students to engage with real world material and with employees working in the field over the course of 2 years
- Partnering with local businesses to develop Business Advisory Boards for all CTE academies
- Engaging business leaders who provide voluntary support for developing effective CTE curricula and who help ensure that students have access to job shadows, internships, and real life experiences
